Morphem I
Morphem I is based both on a emotion and a musical idea. I meant to adresse the picture of a slightly sad kid seating on bench. A picture we probably have all seen. To capture this light sadness, I chose a melody based structure for A and C .
Musically speaking following an A B C form with the feel of an ABA, knowing that A and C are both melody based structures in the same key:
– A is made out of moving scales defined by the bass notes. First F minor melodic descending ,then E whole tone scale, Db whole scale and C phrygian.
– B is a more dramatic melody (starting mes 29) leading to a folkier mood by a right hand melody, obeying the same rhythm pattern.
C flirts again with the gravity center of F.
Bare in mind that my explanation is the sketch I started with.
